Jamie and Kayleb, friends for twentyish years from Charles City, Iowa, on the second day of their three-day trip to explore South Dakota. This is their first time in the Badlands, and they seemed in awe. They seemed to have a very similar itinerary to Mary Clare and me: a pass through the madness that is Wall Drug, Mount Rushmore, and Sturgis, though that is a ghost town without the rally.
I noticed them after we drove behind them for a few miles, and I enjoyed photographing their bikes in the landscape. When they stopped, we stopped too, and I asked if I could get a portrait, they were great sports about it.
