Kaylyn is a badass. She is 23, a 2019 grad of Texas A&M, and halfway through a two-year contract with Americorps doing legal aid in Billings, Montana. She wants to go to law school when she finishes.
My friend Lindsay and I met her close to the top of the Beartooth Pass in Montana or Wyoming (I'm not sure which) when she asked if I could take a photo of her with her phone. She was chatty and excited to tell us about her current 7-day solo camping trip. No way I was not going to ask for Kaylyn's portrait. I admire her energy and confidence. I certainly was not taking solo camping trips when I was her age—or even now. Kaylyn, keep it up because you make me feel positive about the future!
