First things first, Nico has had his mustache since 2013—though he went for a big quarantine update and shaved it and his hair in April. That didn't last long, and after two months, it is back to its full glory.

Second, the landscape here in Marfa, TX, is different than anything I know, and the light is a special kind of golden. It makes me want to go out and photograph every evening. So I have been!

Nico has lived in Marfa for the last four years. Before that he lived in Austin, and he is originally from El Paso. His father is the third generation of his family born and raised in El Paso, and Nico's mother is from Juarez, Mexico, making him a Texan with Mexican roots. He has been working on his cowboy skills while in Marfa. Though these days, being a cowboy isn't always herding cattle but also land management. So he is taking time to learn about the landscape and plants of the area.
